Integrated Safeguards and Security Management


The GEM approach in assuring Integrated Safeguards and Security Management (ISSM) is to clearly define the work plan and analyze all possible threats. This is done by checking security vulnerabilities associated with performing the planned work, assuring that all requirements are clearly identified and understood before beginning work, developing appropriate countermeasures to threats and communicate information regarding threat countermeasures and controls, and performing the work within the controls while maintaining a viable and continuous feedback program.  GEM has helped to systematically integrated security into all work practices at all levels for its customers so that the mission(s) is accomplished cost-effectively and safely, while protecting security interests.  This has been accomplished through effective integration of security management into all facets of work planning and execution.
