SAFEGUARDS & SECURITY

GEM's recognized security specialists have developed security plans for most of the nation's nuclear weapons facilities. GEM is currently participating in planning for the consolidation and long-term storage of nuclear weapons materials providing technical support to DOE in development of policy for the future disposition of nuclear materials.

GEM has extensive experience in conducting and validating vulnerability assessments in support of the Site Safeguards and Security Plans (SSSP’s). GEM is developing the current DOE guidance on the conduct of radiological and toxicological sabotage assessments. GEM provides planning, design, and implementation of extensive physical security systems, and extensive expertise in protective force training, planning, and management including large scale performance testing.

GEM provides extensive support in nuclear material safeguards, including material control and material accountability. GEM provides expertise in international arms control, disarmament, and non-proliferation. GEM is assisting clients with the security and emergency planning and implementation of transportation of nuclear materials in foreign countries, on the high seas, and domestically. GEM Technology provides diversified ENGINEERING to government and industry nationwide. GEM provides a full range of engineering, drafting and design services including nuclear, mechanical, electrical, architectural, civil, structural, chemical, and construction engineering.

GEM Provides SYSTEMS INTEGRATION AND DEVELOPMENT to various commercial and government clients. Through the use of open systems, GEM is able to integrate a wide variety of software applications, hardware platforms, and communications protocols. GEM employees have vast experience in evaluating information environments and making recommendations for implementing strategic information architects. GEM recently has applied this knowledge for several government clients by developing user-friendly relational database for specific project management requirements for several Program Management at DOE.

GEM has a long history of development, execution and management of electronic information management systems. This experience includes the direct establishment and implementation of various formal Project Management Controls to State-of-the-art Records Management Databases for the Department of Energy. GEM developed the requirements for the systems using the National Records Act, U.S. Statutes and Regulations, Department of Energy Orders, Project Mission Statement and implementing instructions as input to the requirements.

GEM provides PROGRAM MANAGEMENT support to multiple DOE clients nationwide.
